(PIDCI) organizing the largest Philippine Independence Day celebration in the U.S. to celebrate the 34th Annual Philippine Independence Day Celebration in New York City.
This year’s theme, “Preserving Our Filipino Culture and Heritage to Unite Generations,” promises a day filled with vibrant cultural experiences that will bridge the gap between generations.
Festivities Fit for a Nation
The celebration kicks off bright and early at 8:00 AM with a flag-raising ceremony and a meaningful Independence Mass at the Philippine Center. Get ready to raise your Philippine flags high and reflect on the nation’s rich history.
Following the morning ceremonies, head over to Madison Avenue between Park and Lexington Avenues from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM for a non-stop cultural extravaganza! Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Philippines. Filipino food vendors will be serving up all your favorite dishes, from savory Filipino street food such as barbecue, sisig and delectable Filipino desserts and many more to crave for. Local artisans will showcase their talent with handcrafted souvenirs and beautiful works of art.
A Parade You Won’t Want to Miss
But wait, there’s more! The highlight of the day arrives at noon sharp with the much-anticipated Independence Day Parade. Line the streets of Madison Avenue at 38th Street and witness a dazzling display of Filipino pride. Marching bands will fill the air with lively music, colorful floats will showcase the beauty of the Philippines, and cultural groups will enthrall you with traditional dances.
Immerse Yourself in a Cultural Extravaganza
The Madison Avenue Festival is a feast for all senses! Alongside the food and craft vendors, the festival will come alive with a vibrant live concert at Madison Ave. & 25th St. from 2:00pm to 6:00pm featuring top talented Filipino singers such as Nonoy Zuniga, girl group 4th Impact, Mig Ayesa, Cedric Escobar, Kirby Asunto and local artists such as Angel Ram, KRSH and many more.
