Mrs. Kalayaan is a popularity contest for married or formerly married Filipino/Filipino-American women who vie for the honor of becoming PIDCI’s Ambassador of Goodwill for one year and also get the opportunity to get to ride on a festive parade float during the Philippine Independence Day Parade on Madison Avenue (the largest parade of its kind outside the Philippines) on the first Sunday in June. AS PIDCI Ambassadors of Goodwill, our Mrs. Kalayaan titleholders get to promote the PIDCI in various community events and gatherings and participate actively in PIDCI events and endeavours. It is now on its tenth year.
